Kitchen Remodel
This recent project in the heart of historic Carytown, Richmond, VA, showcases a complete kitchen overhaul that blends modern functionality with the home's original architectural character. Galaxy 69 Remodeling and Maintenance took this space from a dated, closed-off layout to a bright, open-concept culinary hub.
Open Concept Living: By removing the dividing wall, we integrated the kitchen with the dining room, highlighted by a beautiful new breakfast bar with stone countertops.
Modern Meets Rustic: The design features a stunning contrast between crisp white cabinetry and warm wood butcher block countertops.
Historic Preservation: We preserved and featured the original exposed brick wall in the dining area, maintaining the authentic Richmond charm.
Structural Integrity & Design
The most critical phase of this remodel involved opening up the floor plan to connect the kitchen and dining areas. To ensure the safety and longevity of this historic structure, our team installed a massive steel beam to provide necessary load-bearing support, effectively keeping the house standing while creating the spacious, airy feel the homeowners desired.
This transformation not only increases the value of the home but provides a durable, stylish space perfectly suited for modern Richmond living.
Custom Finishes:
Sleek white subway tile backsplash.
Statement pendant lighting over the peninsula.
Updated stainless steel appliances.
Refinished original hardwood flooring.
Functional Storage: Added custom shelving and a dedicated prep station to maximize every square inch of the historic footprint.
